Copenhagen Fashion Week Turns 20 With Its First International Guest Slot

Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW), Northern Europe's largest fashion week, staged its Spring/Summer 2027 season from 3 to 7 August 2026. The edition marked the event's 20th anniversary, bringing together 36 shows and presentations across unconventional venues in the city over four days.

The season's key new addition was the first-ever International Guest Slot. It went to Collina Strada, the New York-based label founded by Hillary Taymour, which staged a one-off runway show supported by The Climate Pledge.

Institution, the Georgian label founded by Galib Gassanoff, presented its latest collection with backing from Zalando after winning the 2026 Zalando Visionary Award; the brand is also an LVMH Prize finalist.

CPHFW's NEWTALENT programme supported Anne Sofie Madsen, Stem and Studio Constance, the first Swedish brand to join the scheme. The official schedule also featured returning names including By Malene Birger, Stine Goya, Mfpen, Alectra Rothschild/Masculina and Marimekko, alongside debuting brands such as Almada Label and Yours Truly by Peter Jensen.

Copenhagen Fashion Week is also known for its binding sustainability requirements: every brand on the official schedule must use at least 50 per cent sustainable materials, never destroy unsold stock, and build runway sets with zero waste, standards that are audited by an independent committee.
