Copyright policy

This page publishes 2C Magazine’s rules for text and images. The rule is simple: nothing is published whose source and permission cannot be documented.

Text

We write our own headlines and summaries; we do not lift or translate sentences. Direct quotations appear in quotation marks, limited to two sentences, with the author and publication named. Every piece carries the source name, date and a working link.

Images

We publish only licensed, permitted or self-produced images, resolved one of four ways: our own image; an institutional press image with documented terms; a free-licence archive (credited as illustrative); or an official platform embed. Agency images (Getty, Shutterstock, AA, AFP, Reuters) are never used without a licence, and no image from a source publication is copied or hotlinked.

Attribution is not permission

A credit line is a condition of quotation, not permission itself. There is no such thing as “part of” a photograph — using one reproduces it in full. That is why every image here is already appropriately licensed.
