2026 International Architecture Awards Winners Revealed in Athens
The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies unveiled over 300 winning projects, chosen from an 850-project shortlist, at an event held at the foot of the Acropolis.
The Chicago Athenaeum, together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, has announced the winners of the 2026 International Architecture Awards. The results were unveiled at the "The City and The World" event, held at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, on September 18-19, 2026.
Founded in 2005, the awards are described by their organizers as one of the most comprehensive and long-running honors in global architecture. This year, more than 300 buildings were selected from an 850-project shortlist, with winners drawn from over 50 countries, underscoring the competition's international scope.
Chicago Athenaeum president Christian Narkiewicz-Laine said the program was meant to celebrate the diversity and creativity found in architecture around the world.
