Collette Dinnigan and Saint James Reinterpret the Breton Stripe in Cashmere

Australian fashion designer Collette Dinnigan has teamed up with French maritime clothing brand Saint James on a capsule collection. Saint James, which has produced Breton-striped textiles since 1889, reworked its classic striped shirt silhouette in cashmere for the collaboration.

The collection is built around four styles: Port Willunga, a round-neck jumper; Noosa, a V-neck jumper; Sorrento, a pair of pants; and Byron Bay, a hoodie jumper. Each style comes in two colourways, listed as eight separate products on the brand's site.

All pieces are made from 100 per cent cashmere, with prices ranging from AUD 650 to AUD 890. Saint James' official Australian site features the collection in a dedicated "Collaborations" section.

The collaboration pairs Saint James' more than 140 years of maritime craftsmanship with Dinnigan's signature coastal glamour. The result takes the classic striped shirt into more indulgent territory, designed to work everywhere from the couch to an airport lounge.

The pairing reflects a broader pattern among heritage fashion labels: repackaging a signature motif in a more luxurious material through a guest-designer collaboration to reach a new price point and use case.
