Public and Private, Tested Over Three Chapters

VarYok is a three-part research exhibition questioning the tension between public and private space, staged at YUNT in Sultanbeyli. It is built as a project extended over time rather than a single display, and the title's contradiction, something counted as present and absent at once, condenses the question of whom public space is actually open to.

The research format does different work from showing finished pieces: process, documents and trials take up more room than conclusions, and the three chapters reframe one another, so a visitor who comes once sees something other than one who comes three times. In Turkey the debate is concrete rather than theoretical, running from the use of squares to who occupies shared ground inside a neighbourhood. Staging it in an outer district also matters, since almost all of the city's exhibition spaces sit in central areas. The show opened on 11 October 2025 and closes on 16 August 2026.
