Frieze Seoul Returns for Fifth Edition, 2-5 September at COEX Gangnam

Frieze's South Korean fair, Frieze Seoul, returns for its fifth edition from 2 to 5 September 2026 at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in Gangnam, Seoul. As in previous years, the fair takes place in partnership with Kiaf Seoul.

The 2026 edition brings together more than 125 galleries from 30 countries, with over 70 percent of participants based in the Asia-Pacific region and more than 50 exhibitors operating permanent spaces in Seoul.

Two new curated sections join the fair's programme this year. Material Practice, curated by Hyeyoung Cho, focuses on Korean craft and material knowledge, while Spotlight, curated by Wonseok Koh, highlights 20th-century artists overlooked by the Western canon. Focus, now in its fourth year, expands internationally for the first time with galleries from Europe and the Americas.

Across Frieze Week, the fair's Neighborhood Nights programme runs from 31 August to 3 September, with late-night gallery openings across the Euljiro, Hannam, Cheongdam and Samcheong districts.

Patrick Lee, Director of Frieze Seoul, said the fair has never treated Seoul as simply a host city, but as the center of a country shaping the future of contemporary art in Asia.

As Frieze's only fair in Asia, the Seoul edition reflects Korea's growing weight in the region's art market, with gallery numbers and international participation expanding each year.
