Contemporary Istanbul opens 23 September at Tersane
The 21st edition runs 23-27 September 2026 at Tersane Istanbul with more than 70 galleries from 24 countries and a regional focus on Asia.
Contemporary Istanbul holds its 21st edition from 23 to 27 September 2026 at Tersane Istanbul on the Golden Horn. More than 70 galleries from 24 countries are taking part, a 40 percent increase on 2025, and 17 of them — a quarter of the list — are exhibiting at the fair for the first time. Akbank is the main sponsor. The regional strand this year is Focus: Asia.
The talks programme, CIF Dialogues, runs 23-24 September under the title The Long and Winding Road, examining historical and cultural exchange between East and West. Announced speakers include the architect Kulapat Yantrasast, Asian Art Museum curator Naz Cuguoğlu, Naoshima New Museum director Akiko Miki, Marc-Olivier Wahler of the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Genève, former Sotheby's Asia modern art head Felix Kwok, collector Marc Choi, architect Gülru Arvas and Tim Schneider of The Gray Market. The fair also continues its CIF Bridges broadcast series.
