OM Digital Solutions Corporation announced the OM SYSTEM PEN on September 9, 2026, from its Bethlehem, Pennsylvania base. According to the company's statement, this camera marks the first PEN series model to carry the OM SYSTEM brand name.

The PEN series traces its lineage back to 1959, when the first-generation PEN film camera was released. The press materials note that the line has continued in various forms since then, and the new release extends that decades-long history under a new corporate identity.

On the technical side, the standout feature is durability. The new PEN is described as the first camera in the series to feature IPX1-rated splash proof performance alongside a dustproof design, adding a layer of environmental resistance that earlier PEN models reportedly lacked.

Pricing details were also disclosed alongside the announcement. OM Digital Solutions set the suggested retail price at $999.99 USD, or $1,399.99 CAD for the Canadian market. The company indicated that the camera is scheduled to begin shipping in late October 2026, giving a roughly six-week window between the announcement and actual deliveries.
